First Impression ASUS TUF GAMING X570-PLUS motherboard.
The world of motherboards is a real jungle. The arrival of a new AMD X570 chipset for third generation AMD Ryzen processors doesn’t really help matters.
First of all the motherboard is of a standard ATX format. The visual theme is based on gray and black tones with a few touches of yellow in a military / industrial spirit without going too much into the camouflage patterns. We find two independent heat sinks for the VRMs and a third for the SSD in M.2 format of the lower slot. The chipset has a small fan to help cool it.
We therefore find the famous fan at the chipset level. A sticker would have been nice to finalize the design. RGB lighting is present, but very, if not too discreetly. Indeed we have a light point only in the lower right corner of the motherboard which will mainly illuminate the back of the CM to give an effect jointly with the case. The audio part is devoid of cache.
The cover covering the rear connectors has the words “TUF GAMING” with the logo of this range of products.

Network
Not support for wifi and bluetooth
The Ethernet port is managed by a Realtek L8200A Gigabit chip. Via the software we will be able, as is often the case now, to prioritize certain applications over traffic to lag less in games. Or even simply monitor bandwidth consumption to see which applications are the most demanding. No WiFi on our version, but be aware that there is also a WiFi version for an additional twenty euros.
Cooling
In order to cool VRMs ASUS has equipped this motherboard with two independent heat sinks. Little more, part of the coils are also cooled via these heat sinks. An interesting point since its direct competitors do not have this advantage. This ASUS TUF has four thermal probes to monitor temperatures. Unfortunately there is no dedicated VRM probe.
We have a socket specifically for an AiO pump as well as six PWM sockets for connecting fans. Note that everything is controllable via Fan Xpert4 software and BIOS. In addition, each fan can be adjusted according to the temperatures of one of the thermal probes present on the card.
On the two slots for SSD in M.2 format, we have a heat sink. This is located on the bottom slot under the last PCIe 16x slot. Note that the chipset has the famous little fan.

To control the RGB lighting of this card, you have to go through the ASUS Armory Crate software. First of all on the first tab we select the device / component. Here we only have the ASUS TUF available.

Conclusion
First, to talk about price this ASUS TUF X570-PLUS GAMING is priced at 220 euros on average at Amazon or 240 euros at LDLC. This without WiFi, otherwise you will have to turn to the WiFi version and pay an average of twenty euros more. An additional cost compared to other chipsets of around 50 euros since the Z390 with equivalent range is on average 170 euros.
Nonetheless, for application use AMD Ryzen processors are an excellent choice. On the other hand, we can also place them on a motherboard with the X470 chipset of the previous generation. So it’s up to you to see if you want to take advantage of PCIe 4.0 which currently only benefits new generation NVMe SSDs and other points brought by the AMD X570 chipset.
Once again no Wifi on our version and a classic 1 Gigabit Ethernet port, nothing crazy at this level. We appreciate the presence of a USB 3.2 port on the rear connectors.
This motherboard is almost perfect, except for one detail. Indeed, the absence of the header for the USB 3.1 Type-C on the front panel of the case is sorely lacking and we cannot forgive this fault. It will therefore be the HC Gold medal and not the favorite medal for this motherboard which has almost everything going for it.
